Spent the day teaching the spawn and researching material on Rodin. We're taking a trip to the art museum tomorrow to see the new exhibit on Rodin - excitement! I'm planning on bringing my knitting along and peacefully knitting surrounded by art while they complete the scavenger hunt and puzzles I've put together for them.

Worked on the baby blanket a little today and cast-on the neighbor's hat. Did I mention I decided to make a matching (as in color, not pattern) scarf for him as well? The scarf will, I think go very quickly, although I have never knit the pattern before. It looks easy enough. Winter should return before long, so, hopefully he'll get some use out of it by the time I finish it! : )

Today was a good Sunday; a day spent with family, warm by the woodstove, watching the rain pelt down. Got one-third of the baby blanket done, made incavolata and pudding cake. Mmm - good comfort food for a yucky cold day.

Beautiful day for hiking out by Cranberry Pond. It was quite warm - 48 degrees F - and wonderfully sunny.

Tombo graced Jesse with his presence this evening. She was tired from her job #2 - the training stable - and the work of a long day of mucking out stalls, feeding and watering horses and hiking the horses up and down the hill to the paddocks (perhaps she wouldn't be so tired if she hadn't stayed up until 12 AM reading and livejournaling). Although TomTom is Abby's cat, he occasionally can be magnanimous enough share himself with other family members. As you can see, he has personally triumphed by getting Jesse to choose him over a good book. This is always a win in his eyes.

Made a little progress on the baby blanket - may actually get done by Barbara's due date - here's hoping that she doesn't deliver early!

Woke up this morning to a foot of snow. the weather channel said two inches. Don't you just love it? The joys of living at a higher elevation. Most of the state was shut down, but of course not the judicial branch or state offices. Pretty funny. Had to go out this morning and boy were people slithering about. Thank heavens for the subie! The kids got the shoveling done in no time and had a snowball fight to boot.

I haven't knit in four whole days. I feel so . . . . weird. Go to get going on the baby blanket, and as I blabbed to the neighbor, I have to finish his hat soon! Just working out a guage swatch right now - yes, I am finally a believer in guage swatches.

It's cold and I don't want to cook. There's enough leftovers - I think everyone can fend for themselves. Wait = I hear wailing and gnashing of teeth! I think I will huddle by the woodstove, eat chocolate and knit. Doesn't that sound like a good evening?

Making a list of the projects started which have to be finished:

darling hubby's sweater (need to take a class to fully understand how exactly I am supposed to do the increases and decreases - they confuse me) -->

Barbara's baby's blanket

next door neighbor's hat (that one's easy)

Colinette shawl for me (started in June :p)

and a list of the projects that haven't yet been started:
Mother Goose's (Sue's) mittens
Jesse's capelet (and matching beret - shh!)
Boy's mutant mittens (need to create a pattern)
Bubba's cat hat
Boy's sweater
slippers for me
herbal heatpacks for sis and friend

I think I need to assign myself a minimum number of rows to knit each day, otherwise I'll never get anything done.

The baby blanket I knit with Berroco came out so nicely that I've decided to make another one for Barbara, our helpful town clerk, who is expecting in March. I'm sure I can finish it before she's due! Thinking about making one for each of the kids for when they eventually have their own and putting them away, but I suppose that's a little weird

Yippee! Blanket done! I wanted a picture of it for my knitting journal, so I spread it out on a chair. Before I could snap a shot, Tiger Lilli, (who was nowhere to be found all morning long) came running like a bat out of @#*% and leapt up onto the blanket, madly kneading biscuits. She had to be pulled off protesting and I got to rewash and block the blanket - no cat spores for new babies. Jesse bought a cute little stuffed lamb to go with it, so I'll leave it off at the office today.
