Baby blanket two thirds done! I've been looking for baby bootie patterns knit in the round - thought it might be nice to have a matching pair of booties with the blanket . . .

Second leg-warmer is done! I'm very pleased with them and Abby can't wait to wear them. I think I'll give them to her early and Jesse her mittens as well.

Continuing to work on the baby blanket. It's knitting up so nice and soft. I can knit more now - the joys of painkillers post-surgery!

The girls had fun dressing up the horses for their annual Christmas picture. As usual, Jake is wearing the Santa Hat, Cherokee has a bow in her forelock and Spencer is wearing the reindeer antlers. Pretty funny.

Nothing like a nice day of splitting and stacking firewood to recharge from 28 + hours of driving cross-country with eight people squeezed into a van! But really, it's a nice day here: 22 degrees and sunny. Jesse's lucky - she got to go to work at the toy store, so no manual labor for her. Funny how that always works out! i'm hovering by the bonfire to the left and listening to the goshawks scream as they circle over head and the chickadees chirping and fluttering all around our heads.

Had to take a break from knitting the last few days. My arthritis is really really bad. I think that Christmas presents will be a little late. I can knit about 5 rows a day. Surgery is in 11 more days, though and the drugs will be out of my system by mid-February - so I should be back to knitting in full swing by then!
