It did not take long to knit Dee Dee's (my sister) scarf. Knitting with two strands, the Fumo and the Eyelash was a little challenging at first. It did not look good in a 2x2 rib, so I just knit every row and that turned out well. Statrting the matching mittens next

Abby's mittens are done, at last! I made the first one adult size because she's always stealing my mittens and gloves, but it was too long, so I have a forlorn cobalt blue single mitten sitting in my yarn basket. Sigh.

Once I figured out it was too big, the other two came out well. She likes them, but I was thinking, it would have been smarter to make the cuff of the blue mitten orange and the cuff of the orange mitten blue - you know? But hey, they turned out nice. Now I am going to have to try to write down the pattern (I know - should have done it while I knit it) as I made the pattern up.

While I was in the yarn shop buying the yarn for Abby's mittens, i found another yarn I just love. (Oh no, not again!) Yes, another soft and fuzzy yarn. It's Fumo by Lana Grossa. I am going to make a pair of mittens and a scarf for my sister's birthday.

So much knitting, so little time!

Julia's headband is done! And she likes it! I like knitting things for people - it's so nice to see their happy faces!

Starting Abby's mittens. Making extra long cuffs per her request so that they'll stick under her coat cuff and she won't get snow up her wrists. She wants one blue mitten and one orange mitten to match her Christmas scarf. these are my first pair of real (not mini) mittens!

Can I do it?????

Abby's friend Julia never wears a hat and it's bloody cold here in the frozen nortwest corner of New England, so I've resolved to knit her a headband out of Lana Grossa Bingo - a wild orange, yellow, pink and purple print yarn. The colors just scream Julia!

Hubby didn't want a scarf, but he did want a headband to keep his ears warm, so I picked up some Debbie Bliss Merino Chunky - very soft because he thinks wool is itchy and made him a headband - tonight! The picture is awful . . .

And then, I made him a second one - tonight! - with a little light blue scrap yarn on the edge to make it different. But, the edges curl in spite of blocking. I will have to go talk to the knitting Goddess for help.

Finished Kyle's scarf! He likes it and promises me he'll wear it and not leave it on the floor of his bedroom or in a puddle of boot guck by the door.

Started and finished the Bingo headband to go with the scarf - boy was that easy - once I figured out how to increase! It curls, though, so I am going to have to block it. This will be my first time blocking - ever! So, I need to go read up on blocking.

Began Kyle's scarf tonight after work. Cast on 36 stitches on size 13 needles. K2P2 throughout. I like that Iceland!

Happy New Year!

I finished the Bingo scarf! That's four days to knit a scarf 62 1/2" x 5 1/2" ! I'm so happy! I loved knitting with that yarn - it is so soft and springy. I'm going to make a headband to match as I have leftover yarn.

Kyle's scarf is next. He got an IOU on Christmas.
